A Major Gulf Petrochemical Complex
In 1998, a very large Petrochemical Complex on the Houston Ship Channel chose Brand (formerly Protherm) as their managing contractor for a long term, dedicated CUI Project. We were selected because, as their on-site painting and insulation contractor, we would provide the majority of the project man-hours and because we had proven management tools and personnel to accurately budget, schedule and report progress to the Owner Project Team. During the course of the project, Brand’s employees were recognized for proactively reporting and mitigating several potentially hazardous conditions exposed during the execution of their work. The majority of our work was performed on piping and equipment that remained in service during the operation. As managing contractor, we were responsible for the coordination of all site contractors who contributed to the project. Because of the success of this project, it has been selected by the owner as the benchmark for similar ventures at their other Global locations.
