As part of the construction of DUNNA (Santuario Nunciatura), Aluma Systems supplied engineered formwork, slab formwork and edge protection solutions for one of San José's most innovative mixed-use residential developments.
Located in one of the fastest-growing urban districts of Costa Rica's capital, the project features 22 residential floors, three underground parking levels and post-tensioned concrete slabs. The development combines modern residential architecture with advanced construction technology to deliver a premium urban living environment.
The construction schedule required highly productive wall and slab formwork systems capable of supporting multiple work fronts while maintaining efficient construction cycles throughout the project.
The building also introduced the first elevated SigmaSlab application in the Americas, requiring precise engineering, reliable equipment availability and integrated safety solutions. At the same time, the contractor needed systems that would accelerate construction while providing a safe working environment during high-rise concrete operations.
Aluma Systems worked closely with Conobra Ltda. to develop an integrated solution combining wall formwork, modular slab formwork and collective edge protection systems.
The RASTO wall formwork system provided fast and accurate construction of reinforced concrete walls, while the TOPEC modular slab formwork system supported efficient construction of the post-tensioned floor slabs throughout the tower.
To further enhance jobsite safety, Aluma Systems supplied the Edge Protection System (EPS), marking its first application in the Costa Rican construction market. The integrated safety solution protected work areas at height while allowing construction activities to continue efficiently across multiple levels.
