Shell Pernis: 5 years and more than 5 million hours without LTI

September 27, 2019

On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, it was celebrated that SIP’s United, the partnership between Brand and Bilfinger at Shell Pernis, has worked without LTI for 5 years. With more than 5 million hours without absenteeism, an excellent performance in our industry!

All employees working for SIP’s United were put in the limelight during the festive meeting by a delegation from Shell.

A number of factors play an important role in achieving this performance. First of all, the cooperation and communication with Shell. Together, the standard setting is determined for the safety behavior of our employees and colleagues. Furthermore, the safe behavior of employees is brought to the attention in a positive way. This is actively encouraged: this year, SIP’s United has already been nominated about 140 times for Shell’s “Safety Pays” program. In addition, SIP’s United rolls out a behavior-oriented safety campaign every year, which is intensively communicated with employees. This year’s campaign focuses on four themes: (1) Keep Hands Heal, (2) Prevent Eye Damage, (3) Falling Objects: No! (4) To walk is to work.
