Performance

The suspended access system QuikDeck® was utilized in Poland for the modernisation of the roof structure of five industry halls at the KGHM ZWR Rudna Complex in Polkowice. KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. is a globally leading manufacturer of silver and copper with six mines in Poland, the USA, Canada and Chile.

The project was very demanding from the very beginning. The challenge for our engineers was to adapt the platforms to the complex geometry of the girder grid; as well as the crane working under the roof. The design of the girders necessitated the development of special suspension points, which also had to guarantee the maintenance of the specialised equipment used to renovate the structure. The halls of the complex also presented harsh conditions due to the 24-hour working mode, accompanied by elevated temperatures and increased dust.

Most importantly, the use of QuikDeck® hanging platforms allowed safe and uninterrupted operation of the plant during platform assembly and modernisation work. Nearly 1,600 m² of QuikDeck® platforms were on site.
